Human vulnerability induced by environmental change is increasingly growing, but till now, has not been sufficiently recognized nor efficiently managed. Effective responses to natural hazards on a humanitarian scale will require the harmonisation of research, policy and praxis on the issue of environmental migration.

This research brief is an attempt to ground some solid ideas in the field that can be further developed and researched on a global scale in the years to come. It proposes alternative steps to connect research to policy and ultimately improve the situation of those whose lives have been touched by environmental migration.
