UNU-ViE Seeks Full-Time Head of Information Communication Technology Unit

The United Nations University (UNU) in Bonn, Germany, invites applications for the full-time position of Head of Information Communication Technology Unit under the office of the Vice Rectorate in Europe (UNU-ViE). The position offers the opportunity to lead our successful information and communication environment. Applicants should hold an advanced university degree (Master or equivalent) in computer science or other related field and a minimum of three years professional experience in an IT management role; alternatively, candidates with professional experience of at least 10 years will also be considered. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience about working with multi-platform servers and network technologies.

The responsibilities of Head of Information Communication Technology Unit include:

  • Overall management of the ICT Unit
  • Planning and implementation of a reliable IT strategy for UNU in Bonn
  • Advising the Vice Rector for Europe in planning and integrating IT solutions into the overall mandate and activities of UNU-Bonn
  • Developing technical specifications for procurement/contractual services
  • Overseeing technical evaluation of bids received
  • Planning and managing the IT server infrastructure
  • Implementing and managing IT security systems
  • Develop online communication strategy.
